The Ad Hoc Bylaws Revision Committee
At the June 19 OVA Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved a motion to:
establish an Ad-hoc ByLaws Revision Committee (BRC) whose primary purpose is the review of current OVA ByLaws and creation of proposal(s) that would bring the OVA ByLaws into compliance with current applicable laws and regulations, and to consider and propose other changes that would be of value to the community. [from the minutes of the Board meeting]
The BRC has begun meeting and is comprised of Dennis Boaz (chair), Hugh Helm, Joe Henderson, Herm Hermann, Lynda Oneto and Wally Schilpp, with Tom Kendrick serving as Board Liaison. The committee is reviewing the Articles of Incorporation & Bylaws document, intending to recommend changes to the Board.
As noted above, the purpose of the committee is not just to bring the Bylaws up to date with current California law, but also to “propose other changes that would be of value to the community.” Any member who wishes to do so may suggest helpful changes to the committee.
The OVA website contains committee information on the Standing and Ad-Hoc Board Committees page. This web page provides Dennis Boaz’s Email address for contacting the committee, so you should be able to provide your suggestions to the committee by sending them to him at dennisboaz22@gmail.com.
We will modify this article to reflect new information, as it is received, including any information about when particular Bylaws articles are to be considered by the committee for possible revision.
