Promise & Commitment

As of 12/31/16, the CAC Pickleball Project costs totaled $138,005. The one day destruction of the site in April 2017 cost $29,619. Conversion of the East Rec.Courts will be at least $49,000. One estimate to restore the damaged area near the Central Pool was $30,000. The total costs to accommodate Pickleball in Oakmont are nearly a quarter of a million dollars.

On 5/2/17(video@ 1:39:45), OPC President Peter Copen stated: “…The Pickleball Club respectfully requests that the money previously donated be returned to our donors. However, upon completion of the …..six permanent pickleball courts, the Oakmont Pickleball Club  will issue another check to the OVA in the same amount of $16,131 to help offset costs as a gesture of goodwill and gratitude. We hope that you will view this offer as we do, a first step to a new period of harmony and cooperation… Sincerely, OPC Board of Directors and donors.”, adding …” we… guarantee that $16,131..”.

The original  Pickleball Club, through non-cooperation, politicking, and misinformation dragged this community through several seriously troubling years. The OTC gave $40,000 for the upper E.R. courts.. Re-donating the promised $16,131 is the least the Pickleball Club can do to help mend the fences.
