5/10 Meeting: OCDC is Monitoring Cannabis Business Developments [VIDEO]

With the legalization of marijuana in Sonoma County, the Oakmont Community Development Committee (OCDC) has been following the Cannabis related businesses in the Valley of the Moon including the planned cannabis shop at 6575 Oakmont Drive. The OCDC under the leadership of Susan Millar keeps an eye on development inside and outside of our community. Members, Will Haymaker, Wally Schilpp, Jerry Gill, Elizabeth Lefson, Hugh Helm, Paul Wycoff, Dave Johnson, and Jay Jones have been charged to “monitor, review, report and recommend action on all activities, change of uses, proposals, projects and plans for commercial properties within the boundaries of Oakmont that may have an impact on the Oakmont community.” Susan Millar updated the OVA Board during the April 17 Board Meeting (Video: 34:45 time mark)

OCDC has their next meeting tomorrow, May 10 at the CAC, Room B, 11:15 am. The agenda always includes a “free-for-all” discussion at the end of the meeting, and the committee encourages questions and comments from the audience. Read the OCDC Charter HERE.

Oakmont’s board of directors has also scheduled a special 10 a.m. meeting for Monday, May 14 to consider a resolution authorizing board members to speak at the city planning department informational meeting regarding the cannabis store proposal: May 14th Santa Rosa City Hall  7 p.m., 100 Santa Rosa Ave. (Room 7.)
