Volunteer of the Year award goes to technical adviser of Sound Study

The annual Volunteer of the Year honor is awarded to the resident whose efforts the Board of Directors believes made a significant contribution to the community. At the Annual Membership meeting April 2, the honor went to Herb Bieser due to his volunteer service and leadership in achieving a successful sound study at the East Recreation Center tennis courts; the data proved that converting two courts to six pickleball courts would result in sound levels lower than the city-mandated noise threshold. Bieser’s sound study allowed the court conversion project to move forward.

On November 13, 2017 Bieser, accompanied by director Greg Goodwin, submitted the application for a conditional use permit along with the supporting documentation, including an aerial view of the ERC, photographs of the parking lot and the sound study. “The city confirmed that all documents were completed, and told me that they would contact us before the end of December,” said Bieser. “It’s now over 16 weeks and we’re still waiting.”

Did you mean to say the permit was submitted in Nov of 2017? I think 2016 may be a typo?
