Panel of OGC Representatives to Answer Community Questions

On Tuesday, June 5th, from 6 – 9 PM in the Berger Center, the OVA will host an important event where the future of the Oakmont Golf Club (OGC) and its possible relationship with the OVA will be discussed.

The 3-part format and Board announcement can be read HERE:

Dear Oakmont Residents,

On Tuesday, June 5th, from 6 – 9 PM in the Berger Center, the OVA will host an important event where the future of the Oakmont Golf Club (OGC) and its possible relationship with the OVA will be discussed. We hope you’ll attend.

This event will have three parts.

Part 1 will consist of an OGC panel presentation addressing questions pre-submitted by you, our community residents. These questions will be curated by an independent third party to ensure the most unbiased, informative and efficient experience.

Part 2 will consist of the OGC panel addressing the feasibility of alternatives to the $5/person/month dues increase floated as a potential solution by the OGC. These suggested alternatives will also come from you, our community residents, and will also be curated by the independent third party. The OGC panel will state whether they believe each suggested alternative is potentially workable or not and why or why not.

Part 3 will be an Open Forum where the OGC panel will address any further questions you may have.

Please submit your questions and alternatives by no later than May 20th, either by mailing or dropping off a hard copy to the OVA office, or by emailing askova@oakmontvillage.com.

Thanks for your participation in this important event.

Best regards,

The OVA Board of Directors

I understand approx 80 questions were given to the OGC for this meeting. The OCG, as I have been told, will NOT answer any having to do with their finances. This info will be given to the OVA Board for their consideration.

May I suggest that until there is factual information that we come with open minds to this discussion. If one reads the agenda and how the meeting will be handled, nothing suggests one way or the other what approach the golf course will take. Let’s hope they also come with a sense of openness if they want our assistance.

Are parts one and two both OGC panel discussions or is one of them OVA?

I expect the OGC panel to be answering to all 3 parts — questions, suggested alternatives and open forum.

My original proposal had no “Questions” section, but I thought that was a great thing to add, at least until Steve’s letter to Oakmont today, where he promises that no financial questions will be addressed. This is supposed to be our chance to get pertinent information from OGC. But if the most important category of question, the financial ones, is categorically excluded, the rest seems pointless.

No list of questions & No financial data will be provided per Steve Spanier’s e-mail
response below. Once again it appears to be another dominated OGC meeting.
My one question is: Why are we being asked to solve their financial problems???

    Hi Donna,

Watch for an email later today to the community addressing your and other
    questions about tomorrow’s event.

    Best,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

June 5th is the next meeting concerning the OGC. I understand that this
meeting will be an “OVA meeting” as opposed to the previous two meetings
that have been held recently. Today I met with several concerned residents
that have closely followed the prior two one-sided “OGC presentations”.

The purpose of my e-mail is to respectfully ask for the list of questions that
will be covered at the forthcoming meeting.
